This stuff drives me mad
If anyone is trying to figure out why their Intel internal igpu in their laptop (like Iris XE) is laggy in games like minecraft but only when the plugged in (fine on battery) then try this:
Install QuickCPU (there may be other ways to do the next step but this was easiest for me so it stuck)
Select the Balanced power profile
Click "set as active"
Do not use high performance, the internet is full of suggestions about high performance. I tried to change settings in high performance thinking it was related to PCI bus power saving BS. No Joy. I don't know why, but balanced keeps whatever is being stupid from doing whatever that is.
No more 99% or 100% gpu usage while plugged in with inconsistent lag. Hell, the 2026 intel driver even lowers minecraft from 80% gpu to 50% though no real fps gains.
Anyway, hopefully these bits of insanity help someone.
